Well for those interested, my Titanic night was a hit, I was shattered after it, but the food went down well.

The only disaster was I forgot to cook all the veg!!

No I do it because I enjoy recreating special meals, the Titanic happens to be a passion of mine, I live in Northern Ireland in a place that holds some significance to the Titanic and in a period house so I like to recreat it.

The men took the cheese into the Library whilst we women went and sat in the drawing room to enjoy more champagne and baileys and discussed kittens and sewing!
FGT - Would you do it again? Could get your meat sponsored, and a piece in the Sunday papers?

I have done it 4 times now a different menu each time, I do it because I enjoy it not for the 'fame'
I was thinking more for charity...never mind

The charity issue is a good idea, but then I would have to justify my spend and keep track of everything.

I just do it for my friends and we dress up in black tie and have fun
I'm not the only one who has mentioned the amount of food you claim to have cooked/consumed, iluvspikey.
Well if it's something you enjoy, and I can see why you do, it sounds great! :-)
And FGT is a trained chef so she's probably a bit organised than most of us. It's all about the timings :-)

Alright! I get it! I DID say the meat could be sponsored, but it's been made clear FGT isn't interested, which is her perogative No more about it.

What is chicken a la stanley?
FGT, when i lived in my fantasticly gorgeous farmhouse in Suffolk I used to throw silly opulent dinner parties for lots of people. It was huge fun. New Years Eve 2006 is still talked about ;)
what is bassa in potato, chicken stanley, how dyou puree mutton & put pigeon on a crouton, what booze in jelly?
