Who thinks that Brussels sprouts are (a) foul (b) tolerable but wouldn't choose to eat them or (c) think they're wonderful?

Vile. They are just failed cabbages.

definitely best al dente and magic if they come from the garden after a decent frost.
"Maccy D's?" - is that an exotic vegetable ?? Never tried one.
I like them with crispy bacon bits and pine nuts.
I like them best with chestnuts.
I think many of you would be surprised, if you actually ate a bit of the sprout stalk, it is sooooo sweet.
Nice with Chestnuts too, and brilliant chopped fine in Bubble and Squeak.

Lightly steamed for 5 mins, then thinly sliced with fresh chestnuts, then fried with chectnut oil, with a few lardons...... (Yummy for chrimbo!!!)
They're great especially if as seadogg says they're al dente
Maccy D's should be consigned to the dust bin,the biggest waste of money on the market
I like sprouts as someone said Al-Dente. When over cooked they are YukYukYuk.
My mother never got the hang of that, Jeza - she boiled them into oblivion then added vinegar ..you've no idea what the did to them !
Wonderful. Even 60 years ago, when they were far more bitter than now to some people, I'd eat them raw when they were being trimmed for cooking. Christmas Supermarket Secrets tonight explained why; some people don't taste the bitterness, some taste it very much. It's genetic in us.

and they are lovely in bubble and squeak of which i do a huge bowl on boxing day to go with the cold meats .
Wonderful - especially if cut up and stir-fried from raw.
Only like them if coated in honey and butter. Mmmm

Coincidental that you say that, Fred, when I was a kid I loved to eat them raw however the tasted bitter cooked but now I'm errrrrrm older they don't seem to taste bitter.
Love 'em.

Richard - I shred them finely for the stir fry :)

Magic with chestnuts.

Lightly steamed and add a little finely grated lemon rind and just a hint of the juice.
