I was going to write that it is normally accompanied by various different sauces so the flavour of the meat is academic. This link more or less confirms that as it is too young to fully develop t's own flavour. http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/poussin

Sounds tasty...
oh For Funks Sake , sorry ummmm my caps lock key jumped off my keyboard and I was trying to fix it,

I have never had it but to me it is a food snob thing after all it is just chicken.
Not a lot.Just a smaller variety of chicken IMO. It isn't like comparing mutton with spring lamb.

It's younger!
...you'll need one each, at least....
Nice...I think moister, and a bit "sweeter" than ordinary chicken.

We have two.

I just didn't want to expect something tastier than chicken and be disappointed.

Talbot...they were on offer. He can't resist an offer. He only popped to the supermarket to get a sandwich and came home with 3 whole sea breams, 2 poussins and a whole duck :-)

When I first saw question, I thought it was Fish!
I've just spent 15 minutes trying to work out what Talbot said in binary code. :-(

I would say more tender, less tasty.
Question Author
That might be a good thing for me as I'm not a massive fan of chicken.
Mary Berry did this recipe on BBC2 the other night, looks simple and very tasty.

I saw that mamya, thought i would do it with a jointed chicken.
Yes, that would work just as well.
Question Author
I've never spatchcocked before and I don't have kitchen scissors or shears :-(

I think I'll visit Amazon...
Funny. That recipe by Mary Berry also features in my link.It is said that a good stuffing benefits the flavour of poussin. You can take that how you like. :-)
What does 'spatched' mean?

I'm wondering if I have ever spatched mine!
I've gone dyslexic, ignore me.
