I've decided to pack up early. Sadly it is freezer roulette for me for tonight.
But I am cooking braised steak au poivre, boulangere spuds and a red velvet cake for us for tomorrow (I have a long and busy day tomorrow so cooking is out of the question and Mr BM is poorly).
What are you all having on this bitter winter's day?
I made a huge pot of spicy butternut squash soup this morning, which we had a bowl of for lunch, just the job on a freezing cold day.
Was going to do stuffed portobello mushrooms with an egg on top and sweet potato wedges for this evening but have gone off the idea so it'll probably be another bowl of soup and probably beans on toast.
What's up mamy, why tired and sore?
I've just finished making the filling for 'Mum's Pasties' (that's what my kids called them) and it is cooling prior to being wrapped in pastry. Very similar to Cornish pasties, but no-one can say I've done it wrong!
As for the kalettes I would pour some boiling water in a pan add the kalettes and put a lid on and just lightly boil but almost steam them - more water than just steaming though as they can be a bit tough
Just had a quick look and it say steam, lightly boil or stir-fry. I'll get some tomorrow (weather permitting) and let you know how I get on. Not sure I'd like them as I'm not a huge fan of kale but I like to try new things
