The soup making season started 2 months ago .. nearly all the ingredients come from the allotment, so the soup changes as the produce comes into season. It usualy kicks off with roast tomato and pepper. Followed by Potato and leek. This years discovery has to be courgette soup, I know it sounds awful, but following a very simple recipe produces the most amazing...
canned is oxtail and sainsburys is better than Heinz IMO. Home made is James Martin's butternut squash and lime which I also make with a mixture of squash and sweet potato.
Pea and ham seems to tantalize ones taste buds at the moment, to chose a favorite though it has to be Chicken and mushroom accompanied with lashings and lashings of unhealthy butter on crusty bread... ground black pepper (real stuff not the powder) is a must for the soup.
You should also be able to find the Heinz canned product in Asda (95p, or 6 for £4), Tesco (95p, or 3 for £2.50), Sainsbury's (95p), Waitrose (95p, or 6 for £4) and Morrisons (95p, or 6 for £4).
I like broccoli and Stilton, cream of chicken, oxtail and loads more.
