When I take the trouble to make a pie about twice a year or buy them for that matter, I end up feeling guilty re the pastry and throw the pastry out.

I love Scotch poes too.

I regularly made pies when the family were all home, now if I make them it's on a tea plate and I freeze a few.

Live a little. If you wish, have something less calorific for other meals that day in order to compensate.
