morning everyone, i hope you are all well and that you have a good day whatever
you have planned. I am off to meet friends later for a drink, though the weather forecast isn't so good, so it might be a case of sitting inside. it will be good to get out after what has been a dull and rainy old week.
the few chores are done, so i can spend time relaxing. A relative is going to call me this morning, we haven't spoken in a while, so that will be good, then i can get ready to meet up with friends at 2pm, its only a short walk round to the local, though enough to get wet if it rains.
i hope boaty is getting on ok. I miss him on our early morning chats.
mind you he deserved a rest - after all he's been doing the thread for a long time now.
Morning both of you - looking very grey out there but still dry - not for long me fears. Seeing a friend for coffee mid-morning and before Falmouth closes down this coming week. The Bomb Squad are already around and started inspecting boats.
I have no idea.... For example as of tomorrow, I will need to carry two forms of Id and an invoice to see my mother - and I'll probably have to show them a letter from the Home or my phone with the number.....and all we will have is the Press Centre albeit with 400 drunk hacks running around, the National Maritime Museum being the base. The café we use is right in front and the owner (who has 3 eateries in a row) is being paid generously to close down as the public is not to be allowed in the Plaza. He's thinking of opening one or two of the outlets as with 400 fat expense account wallets wandering around looking for food..... There's also a thousand police coming in and they'll be housed on a cruise-ship - now there's a target for a bomb or missile....
I gather we came last in the Eurovision - Love it - well done, mate, whatever his name was.
If you want to protest the nearest legit sites are in Plymouth on the Hoe (and there's a lot of folk protesting against that) or a field near Exeter....both over 75 miles from here!
heavens sake, housing the police on a ship, asking for trouble.
I guess its only three days, but i looks like you will be off limits from now. who carries around 2 forms of ID.?
yep - but I guess that they are worried about security - I can understand the cars and boats being checked. However, the Press Centre here is a 45 minute drive or 25 miles by chopper. I can't see Yoshihide Suga, Macron, Biden, Trudy, Ursula Undress, Mario in-Drag, Auntie Merkel or Boris coming across from St Ives - the journos will go to the mountain. All we'll get are the lesser species coming the other way....
