does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

Disco dancing Shaney? That went out with the Ark. Its now clubbing! Shin splints. Shin splints, Shin splints!!! So there!
why do the automatic headlights in my car come on even in broad daylight, but switch off as soon as it gets dark? Has someone installed a sensor upside down?

Nice sunny day here but I spent it waiting for Dr Implant and then at Costco. I feel as if I've been hit in the jaw with a hammer - I'm not quite sure what it was, I suspect he was making an incision and I can feel it now the anaesthetic's worn off. Bring me more Nurofen!
oh, and OH is still limping. Still, a foot appointment has been confirmed for next year. We'll be driving there. No more fainting, and no more iron infusions but they haven't come up with an explanation for collapsing.
Pleased that OH seems to be almost ok Jno!
I am gearing myself up to getting all the bags and bags of xmas decs out of storeroom. It is a mammoth task as I buy new ones every year but do not throw out the old ones, and then they are all scrambled together in big bags, except For the lights! I look after lights and always store them correctly as my dad taught me to!
Ibiza is switching on the Xmas lights tonight and it seems to be buzzing. I wish we had gone!
Good morning...white rabbits. Well it was white everything first thing, sunny and bright. Then it cleared and went dull and drizzly. Now it's undecided.

Woofy flouncers come and go all the time. I didn't flounce, I went quietly awol :) I just took some time away from a lot of internet activity while (or is it whilst?), with a bit of help, I got some practical jobs around the house/garden done and made some personal decisions. Funnily enough the best and most surprising opinion/advice came from Tarquin. He's become very wise in his slightly older age. :) He's got a fantastic new job, close to where he lives, no stress. I'm so proud of him....and Ozzy too of course.
Ozzy made a flying visit in June but unfortunately he arrived on my doorstep rather ill with a collection of worrying symptoms and on advice from from the walk in centre we spent many hours at A&E. They were brilliant and very thorough especially as he'd got a trip back to Holland where he was working for two weeks, and then the long haul back to Aus. Thankfully nothing serious was found but it spoiled his visit and the plans for the family get togethers.

Pleased your OH is improved jno and I hope your jaw's less painful. As shaney always says, KBO.
Morning. Chilly and sunny. Well I have all the decs and trees on the patio but have no desire to start the decorating!
Going.to a nice restaurantnfir lunch to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary
We had a couple of sticky years but all seems ok now,
In fact we get on rather well again!
Glad you came back Robi but we were a bit worried about you! Glad the boys are ok too. It's awful when a child, however old, is unwell.
Hello all
Nice and bright now after a bit of rain.Cuppa soup weather.
Happy Anniversary Neti.Wishing you both many more.
It's ours this month. All these years married to the same man:)
We're all glad to see you back Robinia and sorry to hear your son was unwell. You never stop worrying about them however old they are.
No Christmas tree up here as yet.I'll wait until the week before although a couple of my neighbours are already lit up like Oxford St.
Yes KBO Jno .Glad your OH is almost healthy again and I hope your teeth settle in time for Christmas .
oh, Robinia, that sounds like our winter hol last year - two months in the sun, 6 weeks of it in hospital. At least it turned out there was a reciprocal agreement to treat emergencies so we didn't have to pay for most of it. But OH has barely left London since then and even going to Tesco requires paracetamol - no disco dancing is in the offing.

shaney, Dr Implant is under orders to get me fixed by Christmas but he is so vague and hard to track down, one never knows when one's next hammering is going to take place.

Our dehumidifier has been going about 8 hours a day for two weeks and is still sucking water out of the living room corner wall. God knows how much is in there, the leak from the gutter upstairs may have been going on for years before we noticed.
Our dehumidifier goes 24/7 and I'm always emptying it
We have a damp house!
Morning all...bright, frosty and frozz again but I can live with it.
Congratulations to you both neti, hope you had a lovely meal.

I've got the odd damp patch (leave it) here and there but thankfully my house isn't too bad. After the endless wet weather we'll probably all have rising damp next spring.
Yes, there's nothing more precious than your health...and your slipper collection :)
Our house has no damp proof course and one room is rocks and mud so.its not surprising its damp.really! And of course we heat it mainly with gas which doesn't help.
Yes we had a lovely.lunch in the centre of Ibiza in San Rafael. But I struggle.toneat 2 courses now and one has too in these places. We had wine which I havent drunk.for.months and I was quite affected. I took the dry washing of the line and left it there so today it's all wet!! Had to rewash it all. I fell asleep for 3 hours in pm!!!

good morning and happy anniversary to Neti and Mr N and wishing you many more. I can't drink much either Neti, I still enjoy it but I fall asleep after a glass of wine. First proper cold night and day of the year here
I can't eat half as much as I used to and restaurant/cafe portions are huge sometimes. I prefer to 'graze' nowadays....especially on biscuits and cakes after dark :)

The sun looks so lovely through the window...but it's soooo cold.
We usually share a started and sometimes a main course too. I much prefer nibbling so tapas are good but are more expensive than a 3 course dinner!
Just started to decorate. The stored red candles have melted I to odd shapes because of the hot summer. No room to store in fridge! Still am getting there. I cant seem to remember what goes where!

three of the nativities are up with the Jesusses safely hidden away. I seem to be short of space this year.
triplets this Christmas, woofgang? That'll require some rewriting of the gospels. Would they share out the three wise men, or do they need three each?
Question Author
Jno I have got a collection of nativities. Some are really tiny, including several feve sets. In other years because the attic storage was in chaos I have only ever been able to find a few at a time but after the grand sort out they are now all stored together and this will be a triumphant year! I will need a bigger fruit bowl!
Morning all
Nice bright one and cold.Milder again soon with rain according to Accu. This weather goes up and down like Tower Bridge.
Hope you're all ok.I'm going to the cinema this afternoon to see Knives Out.I hope it lives up to the hype.Otherwise nothing doing.
I really need to do Christmas stuff but can't get motivated atm.I need three wise men to give me a kick up the backside :)
