does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

on the 29th, neti. At least they'll only have to remember anniversaries every four years. (Assuming it lasts that long this time.)

Very grumpy OH - hospital called to cancel today's appointment which we've been waiting for since July. Apparently they got things in the wrong order, there has to be a scan before what will probably turn out to be a steroid injection, rather than after. So another month of walking in pain. What a shower.

yes you need teeth for the happy parent wedding grin.
How exciting jno!
I have to sort through my clothes for funeral attire. One doesnt west black if not immediate family or leggings or Jeans or bright colours and that's me stymied! Will have to rake around in top of cupboards for something half decent!
My shoulder is so painful 24/7 and have been waiting a year for another app
Still on waiting list!

and they say the UK NHS is bad! We had a very noisy overnight storm her so are a bit zonked today. Plumber comes back this afternoon, hope I can stay awake!
Woofy it's because we are a small island and rents are sky high and cannot attract doctors, police or teachers
People needing ops are being sent to main but cant complain about the actual treatment as it is excellent
I've bought a light checked brown black and white jacket to wear with black slacks and sweater! Yes I've given in but was always taught never to wear trousers to church but guess it's ok these days. Also a pair of black slippons as knee high boots wont fit in!

.
Back from funeral
Church was packed
No wake here after so Mr N and I went for a drink by the town hall fountain and then home as it was getting chilly. I had already made a chilli con carne and sausage rolls for a snack beforehand so not much to do once home.
I bought a nice brown black white light tailored jacket and did wear it with all black and boots . The house was a mess with shoes and clothes everywhere that wouldnt do! Still all back to normal now!
I expect you looked very nice Neti, but paying your respects is more important than what you are wearing.
Talking about clothes have any of you been watching Secrets of the Museum: behind the scenes at the V&A.It's really interesting.Last week they were doing an exhibit of Dior dresses and this week they started on conserving a beautiful gown made by Worth in 1890. They also dismantled the Raphael cartoons to have a look and see what needed conserving.Having spent many happy hours going round the V&A over the years this is my ideal programme.
Calm weather here atm before the storm which looks like more of the same as we had last week with a different name.
Hope you're all ok.

I watched last week's twice! I really wish they had made a longer program and put more details in about the dresses. Really enjoying the pottery throw down too. I used to love the V and A, used to live in there on weekends as a child, also the Kensington museum and the State Apartments in Kensington gardens.
I loved the bit about the lady who had donated her Dior dress to the museum and then came along to see it in the exhibition. What a gorgeous dress. And ..the jewellery Woofy.Queen Victoria's tiara. How fabulous was that and those trembling jewels .The V&A is my favourite museum of all time.
Another day where I fell asleep this afternoon.Wide awake now and musing over a crossword.I know how to waste my time :)
woohoo, more bamboo socks in the mail! I don't know why, they're all free and I've had nothing to do with the company and don't know where they got my address. Fortunately our arty friend loves them (if they're in her colour).

There used to be a case of tremblant jewels in the State Apartments....on the landing at the top of the King's Staircase. The floor moved as people walked on it and made the jewellery move and twinkle.....I mean the case must have been alarmed or something but it was just sat there...a glass topped display table. you could tap the glass to make the jewels move. There were museum staff wandering around but there didn't seem to be many or to be very bothered about scruffy 13 yo kids....I mean we did behave but even so. I know the place had to change but it seems a bit of a shame. The whole world seems to be more structured now. The other thing I remember was Princess Margaret's wedding dress. Very plain white and so tiny.
Yes shaney I know but as it's a catholic church on a small island one had to be careful to respect their rules. Would have hated to embarrass the family. And being foreigners here we do have to be careful.
Well it's a lovely sunny day. Nothing from St Valentine but we don't actually celebrate it!!
Yes I see what you mean Neti. You have to go along with the local customs I suppose.
Not a bad day here ,quite bright at times.I hope this storm peters out a bit before it hits our neck of the woods.
Nothing exciting otherwise apart from discovering that Tesco now have piccolos of fizz and put a couple on my order,so drank one earlier with orange juice and very nice it was too.
They didn't send me any free socks though. You're onto a good thing there Jno.You could sell them on EBay:)
Night all.
Evening all....where did the week go? Not spent lolling in the sunshine, that's for sure. We had a large dollop of snow on Monday but thankfully it cleared pretty quickly here. The rest of the week has been rain, gales, rain, gales and more of the same. :( Despite all that I have managed to stay calm, not one single rant...it must be a record.

Oh a Leap Day wedding, that's different. I think all our family weddings are done with ...fingers crossed anyway. There's only me and I really can't see me ever committing again, I like my space and ding dinners. I even bought my own flowers for Friday, red tulips, I love tulips more than daffs. I did get a dozen red roses tho'.....emoji ones ;-)

Sorry you've lost a lovely neighbour neti. I was very sad when I heard about Caroline Flack last night, so young, I know she'd recently been in trouble but I've always liked her.

Here's hoping for some calmer weather pdq.
Are you all surviving Dennis. Sounds dreadful! It was a nothing day here, no weather no rain or sun absolutely nothing. Our friends have sold up for £1,000.000 so we went round to have a drink and to say goodbye. It was huge dark horrible house went for a drive ( old people !) And then Mr N cooked roast lamb and all the trimmings . I love it and really put out!! Then we just followed about in the front room. Mind you it took me ages to wash all the saucepans he used. Dishwasher is too small for everything!
I wasnt a fan of Caroline Flack but it is sad that she was so alone in her mind. No one that age should die.
4 cars have been set alight here today!
not much storm here really, but the internet has been coming and going for days. Just a normal problem, I expect, but all Sky's engineers are wandering round floodplain in their wellies tending to other people's damp internets rather than ours.

Another wet windy day here although with some sun. I sent bamboo knickers back today because they were about 4 sizes too small.
It's been bright and sunny here most of the day but still very breezy and chilly. We avoided the very heavy rain but the wind was horrendous.
My washing whirley snapped and is now a heap of spokes and line and we have two fence panels gone at the front but they're the neighbour's panels and he says it's no problem to fix them so we got off lightly compared to some whose homes have been devastated.I hope none of you have had any damage and that you're all ok.
I think there's a bit more wild and windy weather to come this week according to the forecast.Keep the hatches battened down.
chaos here, shaney, a plastic chair blew over in the garden.
