If you Google slow cooker or crock pot there are about a million recipes on the web !
I use mine a lot and have done for donkeys years.Basically anything like a soup, stew, chilli, pot roast etc can be done in the slow cooker. I often make a casserole..easy peasy
Meat..anything,chicken,beef,lamb.etc.
Brown it off in a pan.
Bung in slow cooker with a tin of chopped toms, onions or shallots, garlic, any veg, carrots.swede, potatoes, green peppers ,mushrooms. All roughly chopped.I then chuck a tin of butter beans in it,season to taste and cook on high for an hour and then turn it down to low and let it sozzle all day.
About an hour before dishing up bung some dumplings in.
If it's too thick add a bit of vegetable stock
..Have fun with your slow cooker..best thing ever invented!
Happy Easter.

Put this up recently: http://www.astray.com/recipes/?search=slow+cooker and also see: http://www.easy-slow-cooker-recipes.com/slow-cooker-meals-recipes.html#Sauces which has a stack of useful comments.
Before you go to work - just take a fresh or frozen beef or pork roast and put it in the slow cooker. Sprinkle it with whatever herbs and/or spices you enjoy. I love sage with pork - or rosemary - either one. Don't use any liquid at all. When you come home from work the house smells wonderful and all you have to do is make a salad to finish dinner!!!
