Oh I know what you mean Judie, but it is good for losing weight. I hate cabbage and I wont eat it on it's own but I can manage the soup. I usuallycook up a batch of about 15 portions and freeze them individually.

Then when I want to have some I thaw it in the pan and flavour it with whatever I have to hand (low salt of course) like ketchup, chilli or tomato, worcester sauce, curry paste and tomato puree etc. you'd be amazed how they disguise the taste of the cabbage without adding cals to the soup.

Alternatively, blend it really well, and hold your nose while drinking it from a mug!

As for a recipie, well you want mainly cabbage, shredded, finely chopped carrot, onion and garlic. tinned tomatoes and a vegetable stock cube. Put them all in a pan and simmer for an hour or so. I ate this twice a day for a month and lost a stone.(You can eat as much of it as you want)

I have one at home, that my mother uses occassionally.

I thought the soup was quite tasty, actually, however, if you do not like cabbage, there's probably no hope.

I can post the recipe I have got, if you still want it, though!

Can I try it please Bohne?

Sorry I meant to give you both three stars, pressed the wrong button :)

Hi Judy

aol does not recognize your address, but I will try and post the recipe here tonight...
was away from my mail for three days, that's why it took a bit longer to reply, sorry!

I just typed the whole recipe and after pressing submit I got an error...

:o(

I will try again, since things seem to be back to normal, but I'll cut it in small pieces, just in case...

The soup:
6 large spring onions
2 cans of tomatoes or some fresh ones
1 large cabbage
2 green peppers
1 bunch parsley
1 bunch celery
2 packets of onion soup

Season with salt, pepper, curry, parsley and/or chilli

Cut all vegetables in small pieces, put everything in a pot, cover with water, boil for 10 minutes and then leave to simmer on low heat.

You can eat this soup whenever you are hungry, and as much of it as you want.

Now the whole diet:

Day 1
All kind of fruit apart from bananas and Melons.
Only eat fruit and soup.
Drink tea and water.

Day 2
Eat fresh or canned vegetables, best are greens.
No red beans, sweetcorn or peas.
Eat soup with your vegetables.
For dinner have a baked potatoe with margerine.
No fruit.

Day 3
Eat soup, fruit and vegetables as much as you like.
No potatoe.
You should have lost 5-7 pounds by now!

Day 4
Eat 3 bananas with low fat milk and drink lots of water.
Eat the soup.

Day 5
Eat up to 1 pound of meat and 1 can of or 6 fresh tomatoes spread out over the day.
Try to drink 6-8 glasses of water.
Don't forget the soup.

Day 6
Meat (also chicken or fish) and green vegetables as much as you like.
Don't forget the soup.

Day 7
Brown rice, vegetables, fruit juices and the soup.
You should have lost 10-15 pounds by now.

You can repeat this diet for as long as you like.
If in any week you loose more than 15 pounds, have a seven-day break, before starting again.

I have eaten the soup before, since my mother cooked it, however, I have not tried the whole diet.
My mother is quite pleased with the results, though!

Personally, I love cabbage. But people who don't like it tell me the key to avoiding the bad taste is not cooking it too long or at too high a temperature.

I love cabbage broth. I usually put ginger slices in with it while steeping, and a little vinegar.
