Best Steak EVER!!
29 Answers
Some of you will find this hard to believe but the BEST steak you will ever have is available...in Lidl's supermarket! It's frozen, vacuum sealed, south american rump steak but it is without doubt the BEST steak I have ever had! I have been buying it for over a year now, it used to be 1.50 for 2 steaks but now it is 3 something (shame) still...it is thick and juicy and you can cook it really savagely, until it looks overdone on the outside but it is beautiful and rare in the middle...soooooo tender! Has anyone else discovered this wonderful steak?

I like Lidls and do quite a bit of shopping there. Their fruit and veg is very good and Mr.S. likes it because it's home from home for him regarding pumpernickel bread and all things german.!
We always buy the dishwasher tabs and washing powder there ..just as good as named brands and much cheaper.

i know south american cattle are the best fed in the world....and most of their herds are aberdeen angus
working in the trade, i know buyers who have been out to brazil, they are taken to see the herds, but you cant see them, the grass is so tall.
it does beg the question why british meat is dearer, although, the price of steak (rump, fillet, sirloin and rib eye) is going through the roof....across the world

I am a big steak lover however do prefer fillet but if you are saying that it's the best ever then I am willing to give it a go.
I to have been going to Lidl for few years and have tried their luxury coleslaw, luxury cheese coleslaw, their potato salad, tiramasu pots and their 3 salami pizzas and they are all amazing and I would defo recommend it.
Their veg is defo the freshest I've had.
I will have to try their steak now Chappers so cheers for that

After reading this yesterday i just HAD to go to Lidls - only been in twice before (although i have to say i always look for lidls when in france) so needless to say we have steak for dinner tonight! i shall let you know what we think later. I have to add i spent over 40! my fussy 18 yr old son as sampled few things i bought - he loved the strawberry yoghurt (it was in a kinda bucket 1.25), choc muffins, ice creams etc etc in fact no complaints about anything and sooooo cheap!
Have duly bought and eaten the steak and it was quite delicious.Went to Lidl yesterday as it was half price veg day.
Huge iceberg lettuce for 34p,mixed bag of peppers for 42p,
spring onions12p.The tomatoes are a lovely flavour and they had bags of green beans for 44p. Needless to say I bought loads and they are now in the freezer. Mozerella cheese for 28p.
Their Milbona low fat yoghurt is excellent ..far superior to that Mller stuff and half the price.
We came out with four carrier bags full for the grand sum of just under 13.
