Organic Wine

Has anybody ever tried this,what was their opinion of it and is it less harmful for you than regular wine??

Hi Pink, yes, tried organic wine (on offer at Sainsburys at time) tasted nice (but all wine tastes nice to me!) Well except German wine. Not sure if its less harmful, just more expensive! Pol xx

wine is not harmful

in fact tests have shown it to very good for you, especially red.

its just the amount you drink is the problem, and the alcohol content

so drinking organic is no better or worse in terms of excess alcohol damage

I meant that I haqd read somewhere that as organic wine kas none(apparently) of the additives and chemicals of regular wine then it is meant to not give you a headache and generally be less harmful due to being purer if that makes any sense.

Top producers (and I am not talking about the likes of the big supermarket brands of Hardy's, Jacob's etc) don't tend to add much in the way of "additives" anyway, but as for what happens around the vines and in the preparation of the production facitlities is a different matter even for Organic Wines - see http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,1145-1 760215,00.html
Beyond Organic are Biodynamic wines which are, I think, a bit more in keeping with what you would imagine from an Organic producer with tighter controls but also a bit of new age moon cycle stuff and so on <g>. On the down side of this though is that such wines tend to be harder to source and more expensive.
