What's best to drink with a Balti meal, beer or lager ?

Personally I prefer a bottled beer. Greene King produce a bottled beer called "beer to dine for" which works really well with spicy food. The so called Indian lagers lack any real flavour compared to a decent bottled beer.

The ideal is a lager called Bangla, but it's very hard to find. Just once I saw it in my local Sainsbury's and bought all the stock on the shelf.

If not, then Cobra, or Budweiser.

Probably gnats pee .....I mean lager. I think beer would be too heavy and it has a flavour whereas lager is rather tastless.
