Are orange Smarties really orange flavoured, or is it all psychological?

They definitely are flavoured. They're the only ones that are; all the rest, irrespective of their colour are just chocolate flavoured. I have to pick the orange ones out if I'm having Smarties 'cos I hate orange chocolate!
The orange ones are the best! some years ago I saw 'Special Edition' tubes of only orange Smarties, and it was brilliant!

Love chocolate and love orange but together Yuk.Same with coffee chocolate.
wouldn't touch smarties anyway because nestle make them!
By the way, this as a fairly recent economic decision. Some years ago most colours were flavour-related, including a plain one (red?) and I think coffee (brown) but financial considerations made Nestles cut down to the one, and I'm sure they'd get rid of orange were it not for the public reaction. What about walnut whips? They also had phases of flavours, but when Duncan's, the best, went out of business they were never quite as good. (Plain, milk and coffee at least, some are still at M & S at least).
