Grated Cheese

Why is it when I buy grated cheese from Tesco the contents of the bag have to be eaten within 3 days? I have not seen such warnings on your normal blocks of cheese.

vastly increased surface area means it will go dry much much quicker than a lump of cheese

So you'll throw it out after three days and buy more.

Of course you could always grate your own which will work out a lot cheaper.

Adding to archbishops answer ...grate up a whole block, bag up into portions & freeze.Only takes a few mins to thaw or use frozen for grilling.
