Following on from Brawburds Marmite question, I am watching my 17 month old munching happily on a gherkin, and wondering whether most people love or hate them. I think they are delicious and always have a large jar of them in the fridge.

i like them a lot. i used to love them but realised it was only schoolboy lust.
Like them
love 'em, especially the ones Ikea sell. Like your wee one Coggles, my friend's daughter had unusual tastes for a child. From about the age of 3 she would sit and eat a jar of pickled cockles, then would drink the vinegar if no-one was quick enough to take the jar away.
midget gherkins are best
Gherkins are a fantastic invention. Mmm. And also, when all the gherkins have been eaten, I keep the juice in the jar and drink it neat.
I love gherkins.
Your all warped and sick individuals.......I'm off for a branston and salad cream sandwich.
love. M and S dill ones are super when I am in a sweet mood, midgets in vinegar for those sharper moments and cornichons when I am feeling posh. Also who can turn down a poke of chips and a wally?
coggles, does your evidently advanced and superior son like olives as well?

Thank you all for your answers. Woofgang, she probably would like olives (or olivers, as our 4 yr old daughter calls them) but I haven't tried her on them. Probably because I can't stand them, but my husband eats them all the time, so shall let her have a try. Sft, that sandwhich sounds delish. Brawburd, she would probably like cockles too, but they are another thing I don't like so shall have to wait until my dad buys his next lot of cockles. Indie, i love the juice they are in too. It's good to have you back BTW.
I hate gherkins & olives. When my youngest son was small he loved beetroot. If we went out for tea he would gaze all around the table & not spotting his favourite, looked sternly at the host & demanded "Bee-boo!"
