Strangely a sparkling wine made by the champagne methode - i.e. Champagne, Cava, wines marked methode traditionelle or methode champenoise do retain their fizz quite well. It seems the carbon dioxide, which is heavier than air, forms a layer on the surface and the fizz stays in the wine.
Of course, you can buy a cap that fits in the neck of the wine, but it will be OK for a day if you just put it in the fridge
