Whenever I miss breakfast and have to buy something on my way into work I'm always drawn to sushi.  Does anyone else really crave this in the mornings?  Is there a scientific reason why I want it?  Most of the time I go for fruit, but every so often I give in.  Random I know, but thought somebody might know something.

I always used to have sushi for lunch at work (or elevenses!) whenever I had a hangover.

Luckily, only two people actually knew of this, so most people in the office were oblivious to the true meaning of me munching on sushi and washing it down with copious amounts of lucozade.

I even kept a bottle of rich, extra dark soy sauce in my desk.

Perhaps you'd care to enlighten us as to why you miss breakfast on some days, natalie !! Bit of a fuzzy head those mornings ?!!   ;o)

That is a good point, I only miss brekkie because I have overslept, am tired or hungover.  I remember from college we were told that fish was brain food, lots of protein and stuff in it.  Maybe that's why I feel like I have to have it..... thanks brachiopod :)
fish have a high fat content (the good ones omega3 and all that). since the dawning of mankind we have always been drawn to fat to keep us warm/healthy and all that. rice has a lot of carbs slow burning to keep us running through the day.
