burger van

neighbours next door have got themselves a burger van that they park up round the back of their house on a private car park near to their back garden gate. they have revamped the van and off they have been most mornings at the crack of dawn. unfortunately when they come back they throw boxes, empty milk bottles and burger baps on to a pile of rubbish in their back garden. we fear it will attract vermin. not that i want to dob them in and see them of course as taking the initiative, if conditions do get really bad, would environmental health be interested in where the food and drink they are selling is coming from? i would think moreso re the inside of their house, not sure about their garden although it is in close proximity to the van when parked up.we hope and pray they will clear up the mess soon. we hope to sell our house in a few months and dont want viewers looking at the rubbish in next door's garden. also do you have to have a license to have a burger van or can you just set one up and go and choose a spot anywhere?

we are reluctant to at present. its been their first week and busy over easter for them we assume. its only our upstairs window and the house at the other side of them that can see into their garden. they would probably think we had dobbed them in and it would cause friction. also if we want to sell our house in a few months time, we are hoping that they will be out selling burgers when people view, weve had a quiet easter weekend without their kids from hell running riot.
I can appreciate what you are saying about not wanting to rock the boat, BUT once you get a vermin problem, they will keep coming back to look for food for ages after the source has gone, rats are creatures of habit. These people also need a license to trade, and to have passed a health and hygiene certificate, and by what they are doing with the rubbish, sounds like they haven't bothered with either.
