It's lovely with a sprinkle of nutmeg too.
Not seen that in shops. Where did you get it? Do you heat yours up or eat cold? I used to love rice pud with raisins. Too lazy to make it now.
haha Anna - I don't either, I have a slow cooker - just grease the pot with butter, chuck in 100g of rice and 100g of sugar and a litre of milk and a wee bit of grated nutmeg and shove it on for 4 hours and bob's your uncle.

Tins are great for when you just need it now though. x
If you like nutmeg, try it freshly grated onto the top of hot chocolate....
Is it actually necessary to buy 'pudding' rice? If yes which is the best brand/type?
I just hate rice pudding or any milky pudding in fact. I can remember arguments about who would get the skin...................... just the very thought of milky skin OMG!!
Ooooh, that sounds yummy !
I remember a friend of mine making a rice pudding in a pressure cooker........the valve blew and the pudding absolutely coated the ceiling.

I agree about the skin on some puddings. My mother used to make rice pudding in the oven rather than on the hob. It always ended up with a skin like Kevlar on it. I used to try for the stuff underneath.
I suddenly feel the need to open a tin of tapioca.
Just the very thought of rice pudding makes me feel sick. I hate milky drinks too, like Horlicks or Ovaltine. I bought a muller rice once instead of a yoghurt and tried a tiny bit!! It got thrown away!! Egg custard is even worse!!
Oh JJ. You wouldn't would you :o(.. Isn't that that slimy stuff. And semolina, yuk!!
Oh, egg custards ?

Scrummy !!!!!
Scotman, I think you can make rice puddings with other rice. Perhaps they don't absorb the moisture as much though. I can't see why there should be any reason why not................... but I am not going to try!!
JJ. I suppose you like those horrible custard tart cakes things as well. My parents used to love them!!
