I'm reading a history mystery and in the book the protagonist is invited to look around the house of a lawyer .It's stacked to the gunnels with various artefacts statues ,paintings etc .It reminded me of a museum somewhere in London that was in a private house but I can't remember the name of it .It's bugging me :)
Any ideas as to what it's called ?

I kept it decent.
cute Neti and yay about the wrist Jude. Have been a bit spacey with the sinusses today but I had a bowl of hot spicey soup (Baxters roasted tomato with parmesan and smoked garlic) and that has helped. I think I'll just have to live on piping hot spicey food for the next day or two.
Furniture is starting to look good with the new colour on and my Ikea delivery comes tomorrow!!
Sorry. Not joined in much today. Been really busy then my chat on Skype. I have read your posts though so I''ll be back tomorrow afternoonish...
Oight Oight all. Sleep tight x
Good news about your wrist Jude.

Shaney. The weather here has been nice today until about 3.00ish.

Have taken delivery of a quite expensive air purifier for our bedroom which is meant to deal with dust and dander, allergens, mould etc. It is buzzing away up there. I am so fed up with my sinus/sneezing/catarrh problems during the night. It was £137.00, so it better be effective. Has good feedback.

Will let you know.

.............. and good morning!!!!

Mr LL has gone up north for the day and I am left to my own devices, bless him. Much as I love my OH, I must admit time on my own is really lovely (and I get to use the computer and also buy things on line!) Picking DIL up from work at lunch time so we can enjoy a chat over lunch and then going to continue knitting. Back is now finished!!

See you later.
Good morning all...wet and evil here. Dogs looked out into the garden this morning and went hell no so we went back to bed. Lottie, that air purifier looks the business. When we had hay fever, we used one and it helped loads.
Evil here too Woofy. I am sitting here online shopping, but haven't bought anything yet!!

I used the air purifier until Mr LL came to bed and for an hour before I went to bed. He would hate the continuous low noise it makes. I find it quite soporific. The cat is mesmorised by it, it has some little flashing green lights on the top which send a light up onto the ceiling. Hopefully, I will get some benefit from it.

Meggie is the same in this weather. She is curled up on the settee cushions which, of course, are far more comfortable than her basket. Spoiled dog eh - so what! ;o)
G'day...very mild but so so dreary, drizzly and windy. Undaunted, I boldly ventured forth and faced the elements (and the unwashed) to top up my soup reserves. I don't get it with Baxter's soups I'm afraid, I've tried a few and didn't like any of them. I think I've grown to have cheap taste, haha...the posher the soup, the less I like it. Some of those supermarket ones in the chiller are awful....and expensive. A few whizzed up carrots with some 'erbs and they want 3 quid, tut.

Ooh, that's a bit pricey too Lottie...I just pull a stocking over my head.

Hello folks
It's a horrible day here .Cold and damp .Bleugh .
I asked Mr S to get some rolls at the bakers and some ham from the butcher when he went for his paper .He's come back with those bloody part baked things from Iceland and some of that horrible wafer thin ham .
His excuse was that he may as well get them in Iceland because he was in there for a bottle of scotch anyway .Honestly ..men !
I'm in a quandry.
My hairdressers Mum was taken suddenly very seriously ill and has died .I had to have someone else do my hair last time as obviously she wanted to be with her Mum .
But ..this other girl really messed my hair up and I wasn't pleased with it at all .I made another appt but they phoned today to say could I make another one as it clashes with the funeral and the shop will be shut .
I don't want this same one colouring my hair !
Of course I'll get a card etc for my hairdresser but how do I get out of making another appt until she comes back ?
Question Author
Btw ..Mr S took the call and I don't know what to do :(
well if you don't need to get anything done, I would just wait it out then phone and ask if your own person is back. You can call and say you are a bit busy at the moment so can't make another appointment so you are happy to cancel then sort it out later.
Its still raining here.
Yep, I'm with woofy, just wait a bit...when you don't know what to do, do nowt.

lol at the 'man shopping'...I hear stories like that a lot :)

Thing is I really will need to have my hair coloured before Christmas and cut .
What it boils down to I suppose is that I don't want to offend the other girl .
In fact I've been doing nowt about my own hair for weeks...and weeks. I might text her, if I leave it any longer she'll be busy with people wanting bouffants for xmas do's.
Well I'd just be bold, ring and ask when you usual girl will be back...if you've been a long term client they'll understand... I know it seems hard but it's business and you are the customer.
Go on be bold Shaney. This will save any further trouble at the hairdresssers

Or on the other hand this could save you a trip too!

I agree with Robinia above. Be bold. I wouldn't go back to someone who had messed up my hair. If your hairdresser won't be back in the near future, try another hairdressing salon.

My hair is a total mess. I only had it cut 3 weeks ago and it has had a tremendous growth spurt for some unknown reason.

Had a nice lunch with DIL and then on to coffee with my ex monk gardener friend. We have had a good old laugh.
Afternoon all, just managed to get in, terrible internet today. Have bought a slow cooker from Lidl (hope it works OK) and some wireless headphones from TJHughes for Mr N's xmas gift from our child. Now looking into shipping companies as I also have a Sky HD box and hopefully a soup maker to export! I don't shop anymore, I export!

Off to see PJProby this evening, rushed to Tesco to buy a top but sold out of my size, also saw a lovely and cheap black trouser suit which I will get to wear tomorrow at see Julian Clary, I feel like dressing up !

Hopefully sis and I will go to London on Thursday to see hija as time is running out.
Had weird dreams last night about hija, Mr N, money and strange things in general, not too upsetting but worrying! which is why we are off to see hija!
shaney re the hair, yes just wait, I do not like the colour this new girl did for me when I arrived, just sort of mousey and normal, I don't do normal. May rush out and get a light blonde colour and splodge it on myself for tomorrow night. Admittedly I wash it every morning and it is getting lighter! I didn't like my new girl at all, she got really offended when I asked her not to give me a head massage as it hurts my neck terribly. Youngsters, I don't know!!!
