I'm reading a history mystery and in the book the protagonist is invited to look around the house of a lawyer .It's stacked to the gunnels with various artefacts statues ,paintings etc .It reminded me of a museum somewhere in London that was in a private house but I can't remember the name of it .It's bugging me :)
Any ideas as to what it's called ?

Robi love your teddy avatars, so sweet!
yes it's the Aloysius from Brideshead Lottie
I must admit to being a Teddy addict as well !
I've decided it's the year of the teddy bear...just wondering whether June's will be pink or blue ....? :)
I love teddies and have a huge collection of them inc my childhood one and Mr N's childhood one, they range from big to about 1", useless but I could never throw them away.
Never saw Brideshead, Robi.

I will take a photo of our Boris and post it on here. He is an old boy now. I have loads of teddies, some out and some packed away - the house used to be full of them. Nowadays they sit on the spare beds and a group of them are housed together on a wicker container in our bedroom.
Throw away teddies - absolutely impossible!!! But then I am useless at throwing away things and Mr LL is worse than me. When I see teddies thrown into the skips as the waste disposal sites I am devastated!!!
Are you two still in bed Neti ;o)
haha, we're a lot of softies...I feel sorry for teddies in the charity shops.
So do I Robi!
To be honest I am soft over any soft toy with a face!!
I am still in bed atm, Mr N is in the front room watching the news after tutting when he saw I was watching Corrie!

I have had to stop myself from buying all the sad teddies in the charity shops, car boot sales and skips. My teddies are in the top of the wardrobe and were the ones pooling the wáter, but they didn't get wet luckily!
oh yes, sew a face on an old sock and it's my friend for life .... :)

Good afternoon...well the decs etc are down and every year as I pack them away in their cardboard beds for the folowing 11 months I can't help wondering what will have happened before they come out again. Actually I visualised myself hanging real bags of money on the tree next xmas instead of chocolate ones. Think lucky and you'll be lucky.
I haven't scrambled up to put them in the top cupboard though...that might be a this week, next week, sometime job.

Just been out for lunch and am back in bed! Lovely time, I had arroz marinera which is basically a paella soup, and very nice, then two large filets of pork in a lovely sauce and real chips (not those awful shop bought ones) then I finished with a blackcurrant cheese cake (I am not overly fond of cheesecake but needs must!) Mr N ate mixed nuts and dried fruits salad, then he had oxtail which was delicious and then he had choc cake, all washed down with a bottle of red wine mixed with lemonade.

Was warm outside but is chilly in!
What a lazy day I've had. Took decs down. Tree and 6 ribbons of cards off the wall. Then a quick hoover up... Had the other half of a cottage pie I made for yesterday with yoghurt and banana for afters. So no cooking.
Just listened to the FA cup next round draw and Derby at home to Blackburn.
My plumber and his lovely little boy have been to see me and if you say to him "Where's Jude" He points at me and says "There's Jude". Made my day.
I just love him!!
It's a cuppa time now and a listen to Liverpool playing Mansfield. That's my plumbers team...Liverpool. So I obviously want them to win!!
How can I feel so tired when I've done hardly anything today.
Laters 'gaters!!

Hello folks
Can anyone tell me who invented lametta because I'd like them to come round and vacuum please. Bloomin' stuff . But the deccies are down and I've had a tidy up and it all looks a bit bare !
Anyway hope all biddies are well .It was a lovely day here but it's now turned really foggy ,can't see across the road .Pea souper .
I like teddies too and I like Aloysius.Brideshead is one of my all time favourites and I still watch it from time to time .I've still got all the stuffed animals and toys in the loft ,dogs ,elephants ,all sorts .I dare not get rid of them :)

Yes I expect it's time to dust off the antiquities and find pastures new .
You can have too many bare bums after a while

Oh that lamette, I stopped using it ages ago but still find it under chairs etc as with partypoppers!

My bum is not bare, it is well and truly covered in warm pj's!
Hello all Robi I do the same thing with the decs too....I always wonder where I will be when I put them up again. My bears live mostly in my craft room with some downstairs. I have two ag bears who talk bearish but rab doesn't like them so they have moved from the bedroom to the dining room. We did go shopping in town but not to ikea...bought some new mugs and food in marks, also some daffodils
Yes my house looks dull too...Jude I don't consider the post xmas dismantling to be 'a lazy day', it took me ages. I've got some lametta but I haven't used it for years...and why does my tree always give me a static kick as it's parting shot for the year, haha?

Well it's almost time to throw a sheet over those bare bums (lol), pack up your artifacts and objets d'art, I'll go and hitch the horse to the cart.
phew, the Shard people say you can't see anything because of the fog and would I like to ascend to the heavens on Wednesday instead so I have said yes (had to reschedule hell, I mean the dentist, too).
