At last Bomber Command crews are going to get a clasp to attach to their medal ribbon to honour Bomber Command.

Is it just being issued to surviving crew, or will the family of those killed in action be able to receive it?

As a surviving member of BC aircrew, I made a telephone call to the 845 number to find out the procedure for claiming the clasp. I don't think the system has started properly yet and surviving members are to have priority but next of kin will be able to claim, as long as they have some details of their relatives service.

It' a national disgrace that it's took so long for these brave men to be remember. No matter what you think about the ethics of the bombing campaign these guys served there country as well as any men in the other services.
