I recently fitted a new bath and changed the old taps to mixer taps, with a hand held shower attachment. Now I have found that the water pressure is much slower than it was before, hence, the bath takes ages to fill and not enough pressure comes out of the shower head. Can you help.

The new size of pipes used are smaller in diameter than old ones giving a lower flow rate. All about saving water. Same thing happend to me. It may be possible to increase the pressure but you will have to wait for an answer from someone else for that one.
If you have fit theses taps into a gravity fed system then you have made a big mistake and there is only one thing you can do to increase the flow rate, and that would be to install a twin impeller pump. If it is a mains fed hot and cold then you should not have any problems unless it is installed wrong and not been flushed out correctly and partiually blocked pipework or throat. Also if it is mains fed i hope you have provided adequate backflow prevention and elimanated cross-contanimation problems with you fresh drinking water ?
It looks like you have fitted high pressure taps on a low pressure system. You can fix a pressure reducing valve to the cold supply and it will fix the problem, but they are not cheap!
