My bloke has just come home wih a bag of bulbs and planted them, I did try telling him that bulbs are usually planted after summer ready for following spring. Any chance these will actually flower this year?

No, no chance of flowers this year, but they should survive and flower next Spring!......

I can imagine my bloke doing something like that lol. It is the thought that counts.
they should survive and multiply 4get, and then you'll get lots of blooms early next year!............

he likes the garden to look nice but he hasnt got a clue. lol
dont think they will flower this year, buy some plastic ones and stick them on top when he is out!!!!
Oh 4get, at least he's trying!..........he'll get better with time!............
Question Author
he probably wouldnt notice :-) Are ther any flowers we can put in that last all year round?
not really 4get, you need to plant shrubs, and bulbs, and then maybe some Summer bedding plants to give Summer colour, but go to your local Garden Centre, they will be able to help!.....If you want year long colour, then you need to plant a variety of plants!...............
plant them in a tub this year then replant them nice and deeply once the leaves die back
I`m surprised anyone is selling daffs bulbs at this time of year, but do as rowanwitch says and they should be ok.
