I have a large hydrangea in a pot and want to plant it in the garden. When is the best time to move it? Can I do it now or should I wait till Feb/March time?

keep it (including the pot) protected from the worst of the weather and plant it in march.... if you have a sheltered spot you can plunge it pot as well into the soil as it will be better protected that way

Thanks Rowanwitch, it's currently in a large metal pot and fairly sheltered at the moment. Should i prune it at all or just leave it alone till March?
The old flowers will give it some frost protection so don`t prune until frosts are no longer expected in your part of the UK, then prune out old growth.
