The variety of this Physocarpus is I think 'Summer Wine'

Looks like a flowering currant. (Ribes) Google it.
No, not flowering currant. I've seen this growing in a local garden, it's more like large ground cover. I'll have a forage.
Question Author
I thought that at first but the flowers are different, Ribes sort of droop in bunches, these are just clusters that don't droop, the leaves are also much darker green than any Ribes i've seen.
I don't think it's Ribes either. I was wondering if it was a type of Heuchera. Hope somebody knows, it's really pretty.
Question Author
I think boxtops may have it, the flowers do look very similar. Off to Google the different varieties.....
Agree the flowers do look a bit like viburnum but not the leaves really.
Agree - but I know this plant so well!
Is it Spirea? Maybe not this one exactly but close?

I don't think so, maydup, your leaves aren't right, either.
well done ladybirder - that's the one I'm thinking of, Plum Pudding http://www.crocus.co.uk/plants/_/heuchera-plum-pudding-pbr/classid.2000002788/
Ninebark (physocarpus opulofolious)

Could this be it do you think?
The leaves are completely wrong for viburnum.
Question Author
--- although looking back at Daffy's picture, I still don't think it's the same thing. The stalks in the pic are tall and the flowers are more viburnum-like.
I think you're getting warm, daffy!
Question Author
Its not the heuchera as that is too small, this is a tall shrub, bigger than my sis who is 5ft 6in.
