Robinia Frisia
A few people on here were reporting problems with their robinia frisias earlier this year & I wondered how you went on, did they recover? Is it now happening to others too?
I'm absolutely gutted to see my tree has developed some brown spots & curling mainly on it's lower branches & more on the side that gets the east wind. Seems that, according to
this information I've found (in particular see 11th post) it's a problem made caused/worse by this awful weather we've had last yr & this (up to now).

We're suddenly awash with blossom here which foolishly thinks winter is over, though it's still rather parky, and Keukenhof was gorgeous. I'll post some photos when I've beaten them into shape, improved the colours, cloned out the junkies and so on.
That's very interesting, thanks, woofgang - I've not considered implants before as the teeth I have misplaced in the past haven't been very important, but this was the last proper chewing on on the left side. And I do need to be able to eat on both sides just in case one seizes up, as is often the case. I assume I'm looking at a price roughly the size of the national debt of Upper Volta, and I'm not covered by tooth insurance, so I'll only be thinking of getting the one. Perhaps I should have it attached directly to my brain, as that seems to be pretty solid bone. My trouble is I am very prone to inrfection, from clogged pores on my face (and even legs) to wholesale abscesses - I have a big scar on my face where one had to be hoovered dry many years ago. So I get a lot of them around my teeth too. Just one of those things you have to live with, but it ain't cheap.

yes, they're promising Bank Holiday misery! How will this differ from ordinary misery, I ask myself. Well, apart from fewer teeth than the last Bank Holiday. All the tulips brought back from foreign parts have been planted, along with some lilies and lavender; once it rains a bit they should feel right at home, like being next to a canal.
The way the implant thing works at my dentist is that the first session is assessment. he tells you what he will do and what he suggests would be best, eg if you have a string of teeth missing he can put in two implants and bridge gaps or bridge from a sound tooth to an implant. He assesses bone density and takes impressions and does colour matching photos for the technician. There is a non refundable fee for this. He also gives a firm price for what he has suggested. If you decide to go ahead, the next session puts the implant socket(s) into the bone of your jaw. 10 days later you go back for a healing check. around 4 weeks later he checks how the bone is integrating with the implant. Around 4 weeks after that he puts the titanium peg into the implanted socket and does a final impression. around two weeks later the tooth arrives and he cements it onto the peg. The implant process is actual surgery so he has to scrub and prep his room and all the staff (him and two nurses) wear the aseptic gear.
i can see why its so expensive with all the work and the cost of the implant, post and tooth and his satisfaction guarantee. he had done around 800 now with only 6 problems (I am the sixth) the other 5 were all due to undiagnosed medical problems and poorly controlled diabetes, neither of which i have.

sounds well worth looking forward to, then. But I gotta sing, gotta dance, gotta eat, so I will have to consider it, I cannot end my days as I started them - on Milupa.
Dunno where this misery weekend is, I have been sitting here looking as grumpy as I can and thinking about politicians and implants and so on, but the sun keeps shining. Bah.

1300 notes per gnasher ? Crikey I'd need to take out a second mortgage and they'd have to be gold plated . I'll stick with the ones I put in Steradent .I can eat perfectlly well with them :) I hate the dentists with a passion and couldn't possibly put myself through all that . How do you eat while all that planting and pegging is going on Woofie ?
