..Each year my garden has a real problem with slugs.Ive tried most things but this year Ive found out about Nematode slug killers ( Nemasys). All info I can find on line paints a very positive picture of this method.Compared to chemical methods its quite expensive. If it really does do 'what it says on the packet' then Im all in favour.Does anyone have any personal feedback on this method?
While Im at it ,What good function,if any, do slugs perform in the overall scheme of things?thanx

yes it works well and is a safe alternative.

Slugs are at the bottom of the food chain and are an important meal for other animals such as birds and slow worms. Although they are a pain they are quite useful in the overall balance of nature.
Yes, I've used it with success. The ground temperature is important because the nematodes will die if its too cold.

Added bonus is that if a bird/frog/toad eats an infected slug there is no risk to them.
Yep .. I have recommended Nematode treatment before for Vine Weevils.
Works well for slugs too.
