I have a large cordyline about 8 years old ,it flowered for the first time this year and I have just noticed I have 3 small ones growing but they seem to be attached to the stem I would like to set one of them another one in another place
I have scraped the soil away but I dont know whether to break it off or not,or if it will have any roots of its own
Any advice please.
bank some soil around the offsets and in early october slice them away with a very sharp knife.. pot them up keep the soil damp and grow them on indoors on a windowsill... cordylines root really easily and once they start making new plants you will get a few more every year...
I have 2 cordylines about 15 feet tall now - I was told by my neighbour's gardener to cut off the flowers as they suck all the goodness and weaken the plant, I have started doing this and my trees are v healthy and bushy.
