Not Happy With Washing Machine

Got a new washing machine about two weeks ago but I am not happy with. I follow the instructions and put it on to wash at 30 c with a 1600 spin. Sometimes it's fine but sometimes the clothes don't feel 'spun' enough. For example, tonight I washed four big towels and when they came out they felt too wet, but when I just span them at 1600 they came out much drier. Should I contact the manufacturer or the people we bought it from (over the Internet)?

My machine doesn't spin fully if there's a heavy load in it - four big wet towels must weigh a lot in the drum. You need to read the manual, sher, not just wing it!

The machine is capable of 10kg, bloody thing is a.most worse than the one it replaced (and that sounded like it was washing bricks). Not happy with it, less happy with having to read the manual just to do a normal wash - why is stuff so complicated? Just want a washing machine that does normal washing and spins it lots.
sher...chill it will be fine....
The weight of water held in the towels makes the spin less effective, load less might help.

The retailer has responsibility for the sale or replacement .
Sher, you can't complain to the sellers or the manufacturers if you haven't read the rules - they might respond with "have you read page 12? It says not to....."
... and I can't imagine starting to use any new piece of equipment without reading up on it first - how do you know otherwise the combinations and the effectiveness? They're all different!

Four towels can't weigh that much (obviously I have no idea). Just don't want to 'get used to it' and then end up not being able to get it sorted out (as we did with the tumble drier).
Four big towels in one wash?

No wonder it refuses to spin fully, that's far too much!

Right, I will read the manual (and I might go mad and read the one for the combi micro, oven, grill thing and the bread maker, oh, and the iron - gosh, tomorrow's going to be dull).
Four big wet towels are really heavy, sher - I wouldn't put more than two bath towels in any wash.
Sherr its these blooming modern kitchen appliances - I bought an all singing, all dancing microwave with touch control and it drove us mad, there were just too many features on it that I didn't use. It went wrong very quickly and as it was digital would have cost too much to mend. I went to Argos bought an old fashioned cheap mechanical one (Daewoo) that you just turn a dial and it pings rather than beeps when ready. It works perfectly at a fraction of the cost of the other one and cooks everything spot on. Who needs modern technology when the older sort works just as well if not better.
Here is the model but we got ours for £32 from Argos on special offer two years ago.

Hopkirk - it's a 10kg machine, that's ginormous!
I'm cracking up, gone on about my microwave when I realise you were talking about your washer! :) but its the same principle! My Indesit washer was bought in 1989 and I am dreading it going wrong!
Ann, I have never met anyone who uses all the controls on a microwave.
Question Author
Ann - the washing machine should just have a W button for wash and a go button, job done (did wonder what you were gong on about though), x
lord yes, Hopkirk, whatever you do, don't push the red button
I bet four soaking wet towels weigh a lot more than 10 kilos. If I put just towels in my machine on quick wash,it will barely spin them. I think you are expecting too much from your machine. Sorry.
Question Author
Bugger, better read the manual then (no wonder my old washing machine bit the dust!).
Have they got a helpline you could ring for advice?
Question Author
Not sure - probably could find out if I read the manual :(

Will find manual tomorrow and read/peruse it, promise.
