I have a kitchen light that suddenly stopped working. On inspection, the tube was blackened at one end, so I took it to the shop to match it with the correct replacement (28w Osram CFL square)type.
When I fitted the new one, I was surprised that it wasn't working (not even a flicker) and now through the process of elimination, I'm trying to determine whether there is a fault with the new 'bulb' or could it be the starter or perhaps something else ?.
Thanks again all.
Yes I'm sure its the right lamp, its a 4 prong one.
I bought a new starter today, fitted it but still no joy!
Looked at the fuse box and it all looks fine in there.
I'll be calling an electrician out tomorrow.
We used to call them a choke, Chip..... That would have been my next check but I missed the follow up posts. Glad you are sorted......let there be light. :))
