Growing Mushrooms

So I have a mushroom kit sent via post. It hasn't come with instructions.

Its just like a big piece of white stuff (maybe 15cm x 15cm).

What do I do with this?

Ps the white stuff looks as though it is part of a mushroom that's been cut off

PS and Ive let the kit dry out cos came a few weeks back but only opened yesterday. Has been in a dark corner in it's sealed cardboard box)

My pure uneducated guess is that the white stuff contains the spores. You place in on whatever you want to grow the mushrooms in, water, and keep in a low lit area.

It sounds like you have the mycelium or spawn from which the fruiting bodies (mushrooms) grow from. I would suggest checking out some YouTube growing video's on cultivation.
