New Model Microwave Ovens
13 Answers
Does anyone know if there is a date or season when companies release their latest models? I'm probably grasping at straws but there is not one combination microwave on the market that is suitable as a replacement for my broken model that cannot be repaired as the spares are no longer available. So very frustrating.

I haven't checked out all the spec, but is this any good Barry?...

I doubt that there's any seasonal basis for putting new models on the market.
It might well make sense to offer new types of barbecues (for example) at specific times of the year but I can't think of any reason why a new microwave oven would be any more attractive to potential buyers in July than it would in January. (Sorry!).
What's the make and model of the defunct microwave oven and what's so special about it that means you can't find a suitable replacement?

Mine is a Panasonic NN-CF778SBPQ. It doesn't have a turntable but does have racks like a traditional oven. I can cook on two levels at once using convection with microwave and grill or a combination so it is very speedy and I can put large dishes in it.
I use it for roasting, reheating, baking, grilling. Panasonic does not have a similar model and the reviews for the current models are not what I'd expect at that pricepoint.
I definitely do not want a turntable, I must be able to use it for two level convection and combi cooking. It must not be higher than 34cm

Using 'flatbed' within your search terms might help (as that seems to be how manufacturers refer to microwave ovens without turntables).

I didn't think of that, Vagus, I'll have an online mooch. Thanks.
Thanks to you, too, Tuvok, I was hopeful about the Asko despite the price but it won't fit in the only space it can go. The 40l Sharp I had already investigated and it is a relatively old model so the spares won't be available for long and the other Sharp is too small at 25 litres

TheWinner, we decided to buy that one from Panasonic for £459,we took a punt because it is taller than the old one I didn't think it would fit the gap.
It arrived yesterday and despite Panasonic telling me it doesn't have a manual, it has a very large manual.
So far, so good. Thank you.
I had seen it on Amazon for £470 and within 2 hours it went up to £550, the same price as everywhere else so very pleased to get it from eBay with free delivery at £459
