Slugs and lager
What am I doing wrong, please?
We have slugs in a brick outhouse where I store a few things like sacks of birdseed, and dog food, all well protected. However, after reading in previous postings about letting them die with a smile, I put down containers with lager. No luck whatsoever. Is this because we have true British slugs who prefer Real Ale, do you think?

For plants, I use Copper Tape, which I don't think is practcible in this situation, I hang my birdseed on the wall of my shed, but that doesn't in itself stop the mice, which can climb, so how about plastic containers, that should stop the lot, not sure about the Dogfood, unless its in tins,
Hope this is of some help.
I've been a bit careless with the foodstuff in the past but about a month ago I made sure everything is in containers, but the little devils are still appearing., bringing their children and grandchildren. I shall just keep trying, as I think once this lot have gone they will lose interest. I 'll try some of your tips as well.
