Moss on drive

Does any member know how I can clear moss which is growing on my drive? I used to use a high pressure hose which takes forever and uses a lot of water.

The drive is now old and worn, constructed of red tarmac and is quite shaded. How do I prevent moss from growing in the first place?

A product available in Garden centres called Armillatox - dilute to 50mls per 5 litres and spray on and a coupleof days later the moss/algae will be dead.

I would prefer to power wash the drive once more then apply the Armillatox after it has dried and then keep treating the moss as soon as it shows its ugly head again.

There is nothing that will stop moss/algae from growing back just keep on spraying it as soon as it returns.

Thanks Woodchopper, I wil try to buy the product on Monday.

Trouble with power washing is that we are in a water restriction area here in London. Or am I allowed to power wash??
