washing machine gunged up with powder

have a washing machine and the aperture at the bottom of the powder compartment is all gunged up with powder and water leaks also from there
any advice thanks

Take it out and wash it. The build up will let the water through the drawer and won't leak. No Hotpoint engineer but mine's clogs up all the time and that works. Gotta be wrth a try x

After you've given the whole drawer and area it fits into a good clean put the washing machine on it's hottest wash with nothing in it and no powder added. It will give it a really good clean out.

Then only use liquid - cheaper and doesn't bung up your machine with filler.
