Can any "Do-it-Yourselfers" tell me by what name you call the self-tapping screws that have a small "post" in the centre thus preventing you getting a polydrive or philips screwdriver into it to either screw or unscrew. When I know the name of the screw I will be able to locate a screwdriver....Many thanks....Telboy

There are various types of security screw which utilise the pin design you describe and most use that as the description i.e. pin hex, star pin etc.

Your local hardware shop should be able to help you out with a security bit set which have all the common bits.
