When on the spin cycle, my machine makes the most awful loud banging noise ! Do you think it could be the bearings? Has anyone else had this repair, is it an expensive job? Thanks in advance.

to check if it's the bearing:
there are two drums, an inner and outer. get someone to grasp the inner drums top edge and lift firmly ( not to firmly thou' ) up and and down by about two or three inches. you have to put your fingers against ( not between!!! ) the drums and if the bearing has gone you will feel the gap between them opening and closing. there will also be a clunk or similar when this happens.
