Decorating woes . . . !
3 Answers
Right, all you DIY experts out there . . . .
I have a couple of questions if anyone could help, I'd be grateful !
1) Uneven walls (after stripping wallpaper off) could I get away with using an exterior type paint to cover up the dents & scrapes, or will I have to re-paper - then paint ?
(Don't want to have to get 'em skimmed)
2) Likewise, on the doors - one of them has the top layer of glosswork sort of peeling (after I sanded it a bit with wet 'n dry) will I have to strip it right back, or - if I use a roller to re-paint it, will that cover the little patches ?

You could take your doors to a professional stripper if necessary - depends on the door and how valuable it is. Be careful as sometimes the process can lift beading etc. If it's a bog-standard modern door it might even be more cost effective to just fit or get fitted a new interior door.

Hi , if you have very bad walls then nothing apart from skimming them will solve the problem people think that skimming is exspensive but when you wiegh up the cost's versus fibre lining or 1600 lining paper & not forgetting the end result skimming is the much better option IMHO.
doors if you use wet'n'dry make sure you use the paper on a rubber block dipped in water this will flatten the paint work . If not use a resin based filler & then rub down (once dry)
