candle wax on carpet

[oops!!!]

Anyone know how to get hard candle wax off carpet?

I have scraped off most of it but there is quite a thick embedded bit still left.Of course it is where it can easily be seen

All suggestions appreciated .

The usual method for removing wax from fabrics is to place either brown paper or newsprint over the wax and iron it. The wax will melt and be soaked up by the absorbant paper.

Use blotting paper and iron over this to melt the wax. The melted wax will soak up into the blotting paper.

If your carpet is synthetic fibre,  be very careful not to let the iron soleplate touch the carpet - otherwise you will have melted carpet to add to the waxy mess!
