Ah...Remember the days when you could leave your bike on the road propped up by one pedal resting on the sidewalk curb, walk around town for an hour or so, and then come back to find your bike complete with bike clips hanging on the handle bars still there?
As a kid I was in awe of those who could successfully park their bike on the kerb with a pedal, I was equally in awe of those who could cycle with no hands on the handle bars.
I did have the crappiest bike around though, the rear brake worked by me pedalling backwards it caused some consternation amongst the assessors when I did my cycling proficiency badge!
I had probably lost my clips so my flares would have been tucked into my socks :-)
I remember a tip of dad's. The old boy had a thing about wasps, and always wore bicycle clips while mowing the lawn. (From 'Rawlinson End', Bonzo Dog Band).
