How To Figure Out Window Direction And Sun Exposure

I believe my windows on one side of my flat face West...but how would I know whether it was South West or north west.
On a properly sunny day in July I will have sun from approximately 2:30 until about 7:30-8 pm. Maybe a bit more. Any ideas?

What I said about due West on only 21 March and Sep is absolutely correct. That's why they are called equinoxes. Google it, I can't do a link at the moment as on a tablet and it's too much faff.

At 6am the sun is due east, at 9am south-east, at noon due south, at 3pm south-west, at 6pm due west (GMT times. For BST it's 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm respectively)

Sunset for London, UK, for July 24th is 9pm at 304 degrees which is NW. So your window is pretty well facing NW if you live anywhere near London.

Maybe that's why folks up North are complaining about the nights drawing in early.
