Basically my hours have been cut in selco to 24 hours for 4 weeks as I am not grasping the products with it becoming summer it is getting busy and they can't have another cashier with me so if I don't grasp within 4 weeks won't be able to have me as a cashier. I am very upset as I enjoy it.

Don't know how I'll tell my mum 😫

What?

Are you working 10 hours or 27 hours next week?

Abbey, what are you talking about?

Question Author

27 next week 10 week after

Why?

Question Author

They said there's a ban on overtime and haven't got the budget

Your hours aren't overtime though.  You went there as full time staff.

Abbey, did you ask for time off?

Question Author

There where I started yes and no.

They didn't do my contract.

Are you on a Zero hours contract ?

Abbey, your probation period isn't up yet, is it?  Only recently you said they'd told you to learn more about the job. They won't give you a contract until they're satisfied with your work.

I don't understand whether or not you asked for time off to get your hair done.

Good afternoon Abbeylee90,

"It is a legal requirement in the UK for employer's to provide a written statement of the terms of employment to the employee, within the first 2 months of the employment commencing. Although this is not a contract of employment it summarises the essential key terms of employment".

If you are only working 10 hours in one week there is plenty of time to fit in a hair apointment

DDIL, that quote is from an Anguilla website.

This is the relevant advice from ACAS.

You just tell your mum, make a cip of tea sit her down and tell her the truth.

Abbey, if you're working Saturday instead of your normal day does that mean you did ask for the time off?

Question Author
