It seems you've wasted their time and hours. But at least you may have realised that 2 hours a day in a familiar environment is all you can cope with.

Ours not hours!

Abbey, if you're just going to stay at Selco for now, don't you think that lying to people and hiding things will have an adverse effect on your mental health? You've mentioned before that you don't tell people when your hours are cut, when jobs don't work out - are you going to keep that up for ever?

Question Author

I don't tell people right away until I am sure or it's embarrassing but what if I get a job I do take soon?

As us when you get one.  For now just ring and tell them you're not taking the job.

Thanks, Abbey - from what you've said in the past,I think you tell very few people things 'right away'!  And although it'd be great if you got a job 'you could take' soon, the last two years must show you how difficult that could prove to be?

My first word in my last post should be 'ask'.

Question Author

Of course it is. What do I say now to people I haven't?

If you're talking about telling people you haven't taken the job - just tell them that.  You haven't taken the job.  There's no more to say:

About working in selco.

Tell them or don't tell them.  I can't see why you wouldn't tell them but it's up to you.

If you are not going to take the offered job, please let them know so they can hire someone else more willing to be in full time employment.

Question Author

How do I Word it when I tell them?

Tell people what you want. Lie to them if you want. Deceive your parents if you want. Only you can make these decisions but in general it's better to tell the truth, or say nothing, but if someone asks always tell the truth.

About selco I mean

Do you mean how do you word the letter?

The priority is to do it quickly. Try ringing now. Or call in tomorrow. Also pu it in writing- take a letter in tomorrow- don't send it via Royal Mail. Keep your letter and phone message simple- say you are going to have to withdraw your acceptance. They may ask for a reason- just say you decided it would be too stressful.

If you don't feel confident writing a short letter ask mum and dad to help. They need to know that you are seriously struggling in life with everything from friends, to boyfriends, to jobs, with money and with even what to eat or wear,  and that you're  unable to cope with more than 2 hours a day of menial unpressured tasks at the moment.

Abbey, you've lost me.  What do you want to say about Selco? And who do you want to say it to?

For the new job just ring and tell them you won't be starting because you've changed your.  They won't care about the reason - they just need to know they've got to find a replacement.

Naomi- I think she means some people don't know she's at selco- they think she's at the carehome or mcdonalds, or maybe she means that her hours have been 'cut' to (or were only ever) 2 hours a day rather than full time.

Sorry, I meant HomeBargains (or was it B&M)  not McDonalds
