Made friends on the first day that I am still in touch with 14 years later.
Tutors were all fantastic, lectures were okay (even with a hangover) nights out were brilliant - dinking games, cheap beer etc.
I really improved my pulling technique at uni and there were lots of lovely ladies.
So to sum it up, don't worry, see it as a new start.
If you are shy, you don't have to be at uni.
If you are a geek, you can still be but with more of the same people.
You will find people who you like, people you don't like.
It did help me that I enjoyed alcohol though!
While I am on the subject, one memory (and there were s many good ones) was when me and my mates gatecrashed the Christian Barn dance. My mate ended up spinning the principals wife around. Her feet actually left the ground.
Anyway enjoy uni. It's fantastic.

hey dollbaby,
i am going into my 2nd year of uni in september. what will you be studying?
will you be moving away or are you staying at home? I only live 10 minutes away from Manchester city centre so I stayed at home but sometimes I kind of wish I had moved into the student accomodation as everyone seems to have so much fun. I found at the beginning of the year people already seemed to know each other as they had been living together a few weeks but this certainly didn't stop me making friends remember everyone is in the same boat the first few weeks so your not alone .
I have made some great friends we have such a laugh in and out of uni, there will be loads going on plenty of things to join and every night people are out and about. I have met lots of different people that I never thought I would have things in common with there is a real mix at uni. The social side of it is great.
as for the work side all the tutors I have found really helpful and approachable. Lectures can be a bit boring some last 3 hours (yawn) but they are bearable and as long as you do the work you will be fine, you have to be really independant its nothing at all like college.
seriously don't worry about it just go be yourself and have a great time and I am sure you will enjoy it.
