When asked "what are your weaknesses" do you come clean and tell them you're lazy, talk too much, terrible in the mornings, total gossip, bit lightfingered etc or do you flannel it up a bit and gas about being a perfectionist and sometimes you take your work too seriously. Employers.... what is the right answer????
Under absolutely no circumstances do you tell someone else, particularly a potential employer that you're lazy, a gossip or a thief, or worse still someone who's consistently late.
You're on the right track with the perfectionist thing, I've tried to remember what I said at my last interview but it's not coming to me. One of the suggestions on one of the websites I was looking at suggested thinking of them as areas in need of development.
I thought you might find these articles helpful, although they more or less say the same thing:
i would try your first suggestion tell them you are laid back maybe too much for your own good... it'll make them laugh.. and put you in a good light for a better come back.
i have said before that my weaknesses are tea-breaks and chatting with other co-workers, and yet they still gave me promotion..but i did get it in that i only do these things once im ahead of my work as i am sooooooooooo efficient ;p must've worked eh?
