My family and I are planning to travel to Dublin in a couple of weeks to scatter the ashes of my late father in law. In accordance with his wishes we plan to scatter them on the river Liffey in his home city. Do we need permission from a local authority to do this ?

or, just dont tell them in case they say no. It will only take you a few minutes and its hardly like they can make you take them back once you have done it
