Smoking ban in hotels but what/who do we report law breakers to?
Basically who or what organisation would one report a hotel to that fails to enforce the smoking ban in public places?
Or would it be a waste of time.
Or would it be a waste of time.

2 men were smoking and swearing all the time just behind the drivers door.
I along with the other passengers moved away so I do not know if they were drunk as well but eight men including me were ready to rush in and gang up on them if they tried to harm the driver.
The men were arrested but I do not know if they were prosecuted.
Odddly enough I was on the same train a week later and there were 3 men who had obviously had too much to drink singing Christmas carols out loud in July.
One lady was going to call the police but we persuaded her that it was best we watched them as they were doing no real harm.
2 people knew where they lived ( within a short distance of the station ).
A total of 9 men got off the train to keep an eye on them.
They went to the house and let themselves in so 3 continued to their homes and the other 6 including me went back and got the next train.
Nobody got harmed but I think those men were nursing a big hangover the next morning.

Nearly all Hotels / Guest houses have smoke detectors in the rooms so someone trying to light up would get caught right away. No Hotel would want to risk getting caught allowing smoking as it is a personal fine of up to £50,000 for the owner/ manager plus 6 months in prison. The Hotel itself would be likedly to lose its fire safety certificate and that means it would have to close.
Same rule applies to pubs and bars , it is the owners/ managers/ staff that are responcible for making sure no one smokes on the premisis they can personally be fined £50,000 and get 6 months inside. This was stressed to me when I did my DPS course to be allowed to sell alcohol.
